Covenant FM (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an online Christian radio ministry at covenantfm.com. We respect your privacy and only collect the information we need to run the station, answer your messages and pray with you. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We follow the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
Covenant FM is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. You can contact us about anything in this policy at gospelradioonline@protonmail.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact form: your name, email address, the subject you choose and your message.
- Prayer requests: your name, your email address if you choose to give it, your prayer request, and whether we may mention your first name on air.
- Music and ministry submissions: your name, contact details and any material you send us to consider for broadcast.
- Newsletter: your email address.
- Partnership and advertising enquiries: your name, organisation, contact details and the details of your enquiry.
Information collected automatically
- Listening to the stream: when you press play, our streaming server receives your IP address and the type of device or app you use. This is needed to deliver the audio to you and is kept in short-term technical logs.
- Website logs and security: our hosting provider and security tools record IP addresses, browser type and pages requested, to keep the site running and to block attacks.
- Cookies and similar technology: see section 6.
3. How we use your information and our lawful basis
- To reply to your messages and enquiries (legitimate interests, or steps before entering an agreement with you for partnerships and advertising).
- To pray for you. A prayer request can reveal your religious beliefs or personal circumstances, which the law treats as special category information. We only process it with your explicit consent, which you give by ticking the consent box when you send it. We only mention your first name on air if you ask us to.
- To send our newsletter (your consent; every email includes a way to unsubscribe).
- To broadcast your music or message when you submit it to us (your consent and our agreement with you).
- To deliver the radio stream and keep the site secure (legitimate interests).
- To understand how the site is used and to show advertising, only if you allow it through our cookie banner (your consent).
We never sell your personal information.
4. Who we share information with
We only share information with trusted services that help us run Covenant FM, and only as much as they need:
- Website hosting (Hostinger), which stores the website and its database.
- Our radio streaming server, which delivers the live audio.
- Email (Proton Mail), where form messages are delivered.
- Google Fonts, which supplies the fonts used on this site (your browser contacts Google to load them).
- YouTube, when you play an embedded video. YouTube may set its own cookies when you press play.
- Google Analytics and Google AdSense, if we use them on this site, only after you have given consent.
Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or adequacy regulations.
5. How long we keep information
- Contact messages and enquiries: up to 2 years, then deleted.
- Prayer requests: up to 12 months, then deleted. You can ask us to delete yours sooner at any time.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Technical and security logs: usually no longer than 90 days.
6. Cookies
When you first visit, a banner asks for your choice. You can change it at any time using the Privacy & cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
- Essential storage: remembers your cookie choice, your player volume and similar settings, so the site works properly. These do not track you.
- Analytics and advertising cookies: only used if you click Accept. If you click Decline, they are not set.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong;
- ask us to delete your information;
- object to, or ask us to limit, how we use your information;
- withdraw your consent at any time (this does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it);
- ask for your information in a portable format.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
8. Children
Our website is for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian before sending us a message or prayer request.
9. Keeping your information safe
We use an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, security monitoring, spam protection on our forms and restricted access to our systems. No website can be completely secure, but we work hard to protect your information.
10. Links to other websites
Our site links to other websites, including our partner station The Christ Gospel Radio and our artists’ and partners’ websites. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
